This got me thinking…
As a neurodiverse doctor I’ve built my clinic around what I would want to experience if I were the patient.
It’s private, with close parking, discrete location, no waiting room, minimal noise, adjustable lighting…
But… I could easily fit in another appointment to my clinic, if I wanted to- so why don’t I?
Time ⏱️
Sometimes that time it is needed because people get stuck in traffic, behind a tractor, get lost etc. and run late. It happens.
I want you to be relaxed and comfortable in my clinic. Our bodies change in many ways in response to stress… and then putting a needle in or taking a detailed history is just going to increase that stress. We don’t need that.
So if we need to sit and chat first, have some water, let’s do that… We have time.
But that time buffer is important to me too, to have a break, to get some fresh air, to message a friend…
Being my own boss allows me to take ‘ownership of my time’, and provide you with the best care that I can 💙
