Regenerative aesthetics and investing in skin quality

Skinboosters and polynucleotide treatments are injectable treatments that can be used as part of a skin quality focused approach to aesthetic treatment.

Rather than primarily changing the shape or volume of the face, these treatments are intended to improve aspects of the skin such as hydration, texture, elasticity and overall appearance.

There are now many different products and formulations available and I have carefully selected a range of treatments that I feel are appropriate for the skin concerns I commonly see in clinic.

Your treatment will always be tailored to your individual skin, concerns and goals.

Skinboosters

Skinboosters are injectable treatments containing hyaluronic acid. Unlike traditional dermal fillers, they are generally used to improve skin hydration and quality rather than create significant structural volume or facial reshaping.

Depending on the product and treatment area skinboosters may be considered for concerns such as:

• Dehydrated or dull looking skin
• Fine lines
• Reduced skin elasticity
• Uneven skin texture
• Loss of skin quality associated with ageing -

Topical anaesthetic or other comfort measures may be used before a series of small injections introduce the product into the skin.

Restylane Skinboosters

Restylane Skinboosters are hyaluronic acid based injectable treatments designed to improve skin hydration and quality.

They can be considered for selected areas including the face, neck and décolletage.

The treatment involves multiple small injections and is different from traditional dermal filler treatment which is primarily used to add structure or volume.

Your suitability and the most appropriate treatment approach will be discussed during consultation.

Under eye skin treatments

The skin around the eyes is particularly delicate and requires careful assessment before any injectable treatment.

I offer selected skin focused treatments for the under-eye area, including Lumi Pro Eyes and Plinest Eye where appropriate.

These treatments are intended to improve the appearance and quality of the delicate skin around the eyes.

Not everyone is suitable for treatment in this area. Factors such as skin thickness, pigmentation, puffiness, vascularity and the underlying anatomy will be considered during your consultation.

 

Lumi Pro Lips

Lumi Pro Lips is a skinbooster treatment designed specifically for the lips.

It can provide a hydrating and subtle plumping effect without using traditional dermal filler.

This may be an option for someone who would like to improve the appearance of their lips but does not want a significant increase in volume or a sculpted filler effect.

If you are unsure whether a lip skinbooster or dermal filler would be more appropriate for you, we can discuss the differences during your consultation.

 

Polynucleotides

Polynucleotides are a relatively newer category of injectable treatment that has attracted increasing interest within regenerative aesthetics. They have however been used within medicine for several decades.

They are derived from purified fish (usually salmon or trout) DNA fragments and are used in aesthetic medicine with the aim of supporting improvements in skin quality and tissue appearance.

Research into their use in aesthetic medicine continues to develop and individual results will vary.

At Angel Aesthetics I take a measured approach to newer treatments and will always discuss what is realistically achievable rather than promising a particular outcome.

NEWEST®

NEWEST® is a polynucleotide based injectable treatment that also contains hyaluronic acid.

It is designed to combine the properties of these two components with a focus on hydration and skin quality.

It may be considered for selected areas where improving overall skin quality is the primary treatment goal.

As with other skinboosters and polynucleotide treatments a course of treatment may be recommended depending on your individual concerns and the product being used.

A personalised treatment plan and quotation will be provided following consultation.

Due to the addition of Hyaluronic Acid, some clients see an improvement in their skin quality sooner compared to the use of polynucleotides alone.

Which areas can be treated?

Depending on the product and your individual suitability, skinboosters and polynucleotide treatments may be considered for:

• Face
• Under eye area
• Lips
• Neck
• Décolletage
• Hands

Not every product is suitable for every area. Product selection is based on the treatment area, your skin and the intended treatment goal.

What results can I expect?

These treatments are designed to produce gradual improvements in skin quality, rather than dramatic changes to facial structure.

Results vary between individuals and depend on factors including your skin, age, lifestyle, existing skin condition and the treatment selected.

A course of treatment is often recommended rather than a single treatment.

Results cannot be guaranteed and maintenance treatments are recommended to help maintain the improvement achieved.

Your treatment plan

During your consultation, we'll discuss your skin concerns and determine whether a skinbooster, polynucleotide treatment, another treatment or a combination approach is most appropriate.

Sometimes the best option may be a good home skincare routine rather than an injectable treatment.

My aim is to recommend the treatment that is appropriate for your skin and your goals, rather than simply offering the newest product.

 

Safety and suitability

Although these treatments are often described as “skin quality” treatments they are still injectable procedures and are not without risk.

Possible side effects include redness, swelling, bruising, tenderness, small lumps or bumps and temporary discomfort at injection sites.

More significant complications are possible with injectable treatments and will be discussed during your consultation.

Your medical history, medications, allergies, previous aesthetic treatments and skin condition will all be considered before treatment.

If I don't feel an injectable skin treatment is appropriate for you, I will advise you not to proceed.

What happens before treatment?

All new clients have a face to face consultation before treatment.

Your consultation allows us to discuss your concerns, expectations and medical history and decide whether treatment is appropriate.

Treatment is not carried out during the initial consultation. A cooling off period allows you time to consider your options before deciding whether to proceed.

There is no obligation to have treatment following your consultation.

How many treatments will I need?

Treatment schedules vary according to the product and the area being treated.

A course may involve approximately three treatments at intervals of around 2-4 weeks, followed by maintenance treatment where appropriate.

Your individual treatment schedule will be discussed during consultation rather than assuming that the same protocol is suitable for everyone.
