Other Aesthetic Treatments
Selected treatments tailored to your aesthetic goals
Alongside my core injectable and skin treatments I offer a small number of more specialist aesthetic treatments.
These treatments are provided for cosmetic purposes only and are not intended to diagnose, manage or treat medical conditions.
As with all treatments at Angel Aesthetics, suitability is assessed individually and treatment will only be recommended where I feel it is appropriate.
Cosmetic reduction of underarm perspiration
Sweating is a normal and important bodily process. However, some people may feel self conscious about visible perspiration or prefer to reduce the amount of sweating in the underarm area for cosmetic reasons.
I offer a cosmetic treatment that can temporarily reduce perspiration in the underarms.
This treatment is intended solely for aesthetic purposes. It is not a treatment for hyperhidrosis or any other medical condition.
Because the treatment involves a prescription only medicine, an appropriate face to face consultation and individual prescribing assessment are required before treatment can proceed.
The medicine used will be discussed with you during your consultation.
What can I expect?
Treatment involves a series of small injections into the underarm area with the aim to temporarily reduce perspiration in the treated area.
The degree and duration of effect vary between individuals and cannot be guaranteed.
Treatment is not offered to other areas of the body.
Possible side effects
As with any injectable treatment, temporary effects can occur, including:
- Bruising
- Redness
- Tenderness or discomfort
- Swelling
- Localised irritation
Your individual risks and suitability will be discussed during consultation.
If you have concerns about excessive sweating as a medical problem, this treatment is not intended to replace medical assessment. You should speak to your GP or an appropriate medical specialist.
Masseter slimming
Masseter slimming is an aesthetic treatment designed to alter the appearance of a wider or more prominent lower face by temporarily reducing the activity and size of the masseter muscles.
The masseter muscles are located at the sides of the jaw and are involved in chewing.
In some people, reducing the size of these muscles can create a more tapered or narrower appearance to the lower face.
This is an aesthetic treatment only.
It is not offered to diagnose or treat teeth grinding, jaw pain, temporomandibular joint disorders or other medical conditions.
Treatment involves a small number of injections into each masseter muscle with the exact treatment plan determined by your individual anatomy.
What results can I expect?
The effect develops gradually rather than immediately.
Individual results vary depending on factors including the size and strength of the masseter muscles and your individual response to treatment.
The aim is a subtle change in facial appearance rather than a dramatic alteration of your features.
Results are temporary and further treatment may be considered if appropriate.
Safety and suitability
The masseter is an important facial muscle and treatment requires careful assessment of your anatomy.
Possible side effects and complications will be discussed during your consultation.
Treatment may not be appropriate for everyone, and I will not proceed if I don't feel that the potential benefits outweigh the risks. In some cases signposting to a specialist dentist or medical aesthetician may be required if treatment is more 'medical' than 'beauty'.
Your consultation
Both of these treatments require an individual assessment before treatment.
During your consultation I'll discuss your concerns, medical history, medications, previous aesthetic treatments and expectations.
I'll explain the potential benefits, limitations and risks and answer any questions you have.
If I don't feel the treatment is appropriate I will advise you not to proceed.
There is no obligation to have treatment following your consultation.
Aesthetic treatment, not medical treatment
Angel Aesthetics provides these treatments for cosmetic purposes only.
If you are concerned that you may have a medical condition please speak to your GP or an appropriate medical specialist.
