Vitamin B7 (Biotin) injections

Vitamin B7  can be found in food sources, including  eggs fish, liver, avocado and mushrooms.

There are conditions and medications which are contraindicated with Biotin, and therefore a full medical consultation is required.

Kenalog Hayfever Injections ***temporarily paused***

Hayfever is an allergic reaction to pollen and affects 10%-15% of people in Britain.  There are various types of pollen that people can be allergic to, including grass, tree and weed and these can be seasonal.

Hayfever symptoms are the body’s response to this allergen and attempts to remove the foreign substance by initiating an inflammatory response.

Symptoms include, but are not limited to, sneezing, blocked or runny nose, wheezing, itchy nose eyes and throat, red or watery eyes, post nasal drip, headaches and fatigue.

These can have a detrimental effect on a person’s quality of life, especially if their occupation involves working outdoors.

The majority of people use over the counter and supermarket treatments with good relief. These include antihistamine tablets (Loratadine and Cetirizine), Piriton (Chlorphenamine), eye drops, nasal sprays and washes, vaseline inside the nostrils and wrap around sunglasses.

For those whom have tried these there are prescription medications which can be obtained from your GP, for example, Fexofenadine tablets, short course of oral steroids, steroid nasal drops.

However, some people have persistent treatment despite use of the above, and for these the Kenalog injection may be suitable. It is no longer available on the NHS but is available privately following a medical consultation.

Kenalog (Triamcinoline Acetonide) is a steroid injection and can be effective to treat seasonal hayfever. A single dose of hayfever injection is likely to relieve symptoms- however it is unclear how long any benefit will last.

The injection acts by temporarily suppressing the body’s immune system, reducing the symptoms of hayfever. It is given by intramuscular injection into the buttock. Over the next few weeks the treatment is slowing absorbed into the bloodstream.

Usually a single injection (40mg) is sufficient, and it is not recommended that anyone has more than 2 injections per hayfever season.  It cannot be given within 4 weeks of any vaccinations, including COVID boosters. Kenalog is contraindicated in certain health conditions, including but not  limited to thin or brittle bones, glaucoma and diabetes.

What to expect at your consultation

A face to face, free, no obligation consultation is essential prior to any treatment with Angel Aesthetics. This allows our medical doctor to discuss treatment options, the risks and benefits and potential side effects of a vitamin injection, Kenalog, patches, skincare or Nutrakos sachets. This is especially important during the COVID pandemic. If we don’t think the treatment is for you, we will not proceed and no fee will be charged.

If we feel that treatment may be of benefit this can be booked in, usually within 1 week of consultation, and you will be asked to sign consent forms for the procedure, including our COVID consent form on the day of treatment. We advise you to inform your GP of treatment for safety reasons.

Vitamin injections- The treatment itself will take about 5 minutes and involves an injection into the deltoid (upper arm) or buttock muscle.

If premium skincare, patches or sachets are appropriate these will be ordered from our medical supplier and are usually available within 3-7 days.
