GENERAL AFTERCARE

The following advice applies to most aesthetic treatments unless you have been given different instructions by your practitioner.

Please do not have treatments close to travelling- UK and abroad - if you develop a complication we need to be able to physically assess you.

Do not fly for at least 48 hours after botox and for 2 weeks after filler/skinboosters.

Keep your skin clean and dry- treat it like a wound.

Keep treated areas clean and avoid unnecessary touching, rubbing or picking.

Drink plenty of water and maintain your usual balanced diet.

Continue with gentle skincare and follow any product specific advice given by your practitioner.

Following injectable or peel treatments avoid introducing new or potentially irritating products until your skin has settled.

Use a high SPF daily and avoid prolonged UV exposure while your skin is recovering.

Following many treatments, avoid excessive heat such as saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs and very hot showers while redness and swelling are present.

Avoid swimming until the skin has healed.

Temporary swelling, redness, tenderness, bruising or changes in skin texture can occur following aesthetic treatments.

Do not rush to judge the final result while your treatment is still settling.

WHAT IS NORMAL?

The effects of aesthetic treatments vary from person to person.

Depending on your treatment, you may experience:

  • Mild redness
  • Swelling
  • Tenderness
  • Bruising
  • Small injection marks
  • Temporary sensitivity
  • Small lumps or areas of firmness
  • Dryness or tightness
  • Flaking or peeling following a chemical peel

These symptoms are generally temporary and should gradually improve as your skin heals.

Please contact us if you have any concerns or unexpected symptoms as soon as possible, do not wait until your review appointment.

ANTI-WRINKLE 'BOTOX' INJECTIONS

Your treatment may cause temporary redness, tenderness, swelling or bruising around the injection sites.

Results are not immediate and can take up to 28 days for full effect. You may begin to notice an effect within 5-7 days and results will wear off gradually over 12 weeks.

Immediately after treatment:

  • Avoid rubbing, pressing or massaging the treated areas.
  • Remain upright as much as possible following treatment.
  • Avoid lying flat or prolonged bending immediately after treatment.
