Fibroblast/Plasma Pen

Please note that from April 2026 we will be reducing our plasma pen treatment list to focus on specific small areas of concern only.

These include small skin tags & upper eyelid tightening.

Treatment may not be appropriate for all and results can take 12+ weeks to become noticeable.

Plasma Pen is a brand of the device used for fibroblast treatment

Fibroblast treatment is specifically targeted to tighten, lift, rejuvenate and regenerate the skin. A device is used to create micro-trauma to the skin and stimulate fibroblasts (these are cells within our connective tissue). This stimulates the formation of new collagen and helps to improve the appearance of the skin. New collagen continues to form over the next 12 weeks and treatment results can last for well over a year.

The plasma pen device allows a charged gas- known as plasma- to form in the air between the device tip and the skin. The device does not touch the skin itself. Through a process known as sublimation the plasma turns the solid skin into a gaseous state and as a result elastin fibers shrink. This micro-trauma to the skin surface leads to a tightening and lifting effect. The epidermis is rejuvenated with treatment and old cells are replaced with fresh new cells. Proteins within the dermis are activated and released to help encourage tissue regeneration and repair. By using a plasma pen device we can deliver focused and controlled treatment to the area of concern. Small carbon crusts will appear on the skin which then fall off to leave behind refreshed looking skin once healing has ended.

Side effects of treatment can include skin sensitivity and tightness (similar to sunburn), swelling, redness, bruising, itching, peeling and crusting.

Serious complications are rare but can include eye injury, changes to skin pigmentation (increased and decreased), prolonged discomfort, scarring, infection and re-activation of Herpes virus (cold sores).

Treatment results cannot be guaranteed and more than one session may be required for optimal results.

Any concerns must be reported within 24 hours and clinical review will be offered.

Although the skin often looks ‘healed’ in as little as 2 weeks, the healing process can take up to 12 weeks and therefore continued daily aftercare is essential. Healing time will vary from person to person and the area treated.

Optimising the skin prior to treatment, as well as aftercare, is essential for maximum results.

In some cases, such as clients with certain health conditions or medications, a letter from your GP may be required.

We reserve the right to decline treatment if we do not feel it is appropriate.
